The writing department of the School of Humanities and Sciences brings to campus distinguished visiting writer Lee Gutkind, January 31-February 4, to lead a master class in creative nonfiction and to offer a public lecture on Tuesday evening and a public reading on Thursday evening.

Lee Gutkind is founder and editor of the popular journal Creative Nonfiction, the first and largest literary journal to publish nonfiction exclusively. He is the author of more than a dozen books, including The Best Seat in Baseball, But You Have to Stand. His new memoir, Forever Fat: Essays by the Godfather, has been praised by Publisher's Weekly as "a collection of beautifully crafted personal essays" that "convey emotional pain leavened with humor."
