Playwright-songwriter-translator Caridad Svich will hold an open discussion on Thursday February 17, beginning at 12:10 pm at the Clark Theatre, Dillingham Center.
Caridad Svich is editor of Trans-global Readings: Crossing Theatrical Boundaries, a book of conversations on media, language, culture, and performance. She is coeditor of Conducting a Life: Reflections on the Theatre of Maria Irene Fornes, Out of the Fringe, a special issue on Latino performance of the Journal of American Drama and Theatre, Theatre in Crisis. Her translations of 5 plays and 13 poems by Federico Garcia Lorca are published in Impossible Theater. She has held an NEA/TCG residency at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre, and was resident playwright at INTAR Theatre in New York. She has been guest artist at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and the Royal Court Theatre, and has taught playwriting at Yale School of Drama, Ohio State University, and the US-Cuba Writers' Conference in Havana. She holds an MFA from UCSD, is founder of the performance collective NoPassport, and is resident playwright of New Dramatists. |
