The graduates in speech-language pathology are required to take a competency exam (Praxis) to qualify for licensure. All the Ithaca College students who took the exam passed at a rate 20 points higher than the national average.

The performance of our students on the Praxis exam is a credit to their ability and the excellent work by the faculty and staff of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Traditionally, our students pass this test on a regular basis. Cumulative scores from the past several years indicate that IC students consistently rank in the top 10 percent of students nationwide. The consistent high quality undergraduate and graduate preparation in speech language pathology and audiology is a point of pride for everyone at IC.
