Todd Burleson, with Alpine Ascents International, will be presenting a lecture about climbing Mt. Everest on Thursday, March 3, at 7:00 pm in Textor 102. This lecture is open to the general public.
Todd Burleson is president and founder of Alpine Ascents International and a senior guide, international and mountaineering school. He has achieved unparalleled success in the mountain guiding industry and is one of the world's leading mountaineers. In his 18 years of guiding, he has led eight expeditions to Mt. Everest and has guided successful expeditions on every continent including climbs of all the "Seven Summits."
Forever climbing great peaks around the world, Burleson just climbed Aconcagua again as well as Australia's Kosciusko, completing his "Seven Summits" for the second time. In 1998 he was awarded the American Alpine Club's prestigious David J. Sowles award for his rescue efforts on Mt. Everest in 1996.
