The IC Contemporary Chamber Ensemble will present an evening of music of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos on Tuesday, March 22, at 8:15 in Ford Hall. The concert is free.
Director Jeffrey Grogan has assembled a program involving both faculty and students from the School of Music. Faculty guitarist Pablo Cohen will be featured in the Concerto for Guitar and Small Orchestra, with graduate student Benjamin Aneff conducting the chamber orchestra. Faculty soprano Deborah Montgomery-Cove will be joined by the IC Cello Choir, which is advised by Elizabeth Simkin, for the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5.
Brazilian pianist and IC faculty member Jairo Geronymo will be featured with the symphony orchestra under Grogan's direction in the Bachianas Brasileiras No. 3 for piano and orchestra.
