The Center for Faculty Excellence announces a series of workshops on designing and assessing courses for significant learning May 23-27. "Creating Significant Learning Experiences" on Monday and Tuesday features L. Dee Fink and "Assessment and the Learning Portfolio" on Wednesday features Eileen M. Herteis.

The week is designed as a cohesive series but one can attend any or all of the workshops. They will be valuable to all faculty and teaching staff members and also to those who chair or coordinate departments or programs. The taxonomy of significant learning by L. Dee Fink is integrated into many of the all-College initiatives including the assessment for Middle States. Learning portfolios or e-portfolios are a key element in the proposals of the Core Experience Task Force.
