Donate blood and get a free Red Cross wristband April 5 in Emerson Suites from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

All presenting blood donors will receive a free red wristband just like the yellow bands popularized by Lance Armstrong .

Plus, You'll also be able to enter a drawing to win great prizes, including gift cards valued as high as $500.

There's not a single good reason to donate blood -- there are actually three good reasons to donate blood. That's how many people benefit every single time you give the "gift of life.' Your blood's components (red cells, platelets, and plasma) can be separated out to help save hospital patients with a wide range of needs -- burn victims, cancer and leukemia patients, trauma cases -- the lists is so long.

So please make an appointment at our blood drive on Tuesday April 5, in Emerson Suites. E-mail arc_ic@hotmail.com or stop by the Textor Hall blood drive table on March 30 and 31, or April 1 and 4 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm to sign up.

You are eligible to donate if you meet the following criteria:

• Are at least 17 years old
• Weight at least 110 pounds
• Your last donation was on or before Dec. 6th
• Have not traveled abroad since 1980 for more then 3 cumulative months in Great Britain or 6 months cumulative in Europe.

To improve your donation experience be sure to get a good nights sleep, eat well the day of donation, and drink plenty of fluids.
