Occupied Spaces Symposium: Hank Roberts and “Music from Occupied Lands” on April 8Contributed by Melissa Gattine on 03/30/05
Roberts, whose approach to writing and performing music embraces a wide range of musical styles from Afrocentric music to lyrical folk-rock to R&B and classical, uses the cross-cultural, soul-language dance with the cello and voice to express ideas.
The Occupied Spaces Symposium will feature a series of talks, research presentations, panels, and performances dealing with gender, race, geography, and symbolic occupations nationally and internationally. The public is invited to the performance and all symposium sessions at no charge. For questions, please contact Patty Zimmerman, 274-3431. |
