Celebrate LGBT Awareness Month

Contributed by Luca Maurer on 03/31/05

April is LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender) Awareness Month!

The Office of Multicultural Affairs Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services, in collaboration with a variety of campus student groups, departments, and offices, will host a variety of events and activities focusing on LGBT themes throughout the month.

This year there are many opportunities to learn about and celebrate the unique contributions of sexual minority people. Upcoming highlights include guest speakers, film screenings, facilitated discussions by faculty members, theatrical and musical performances, and much more. A list of LGBT center offerings can be found in the pages of the current issue of The Ithacan. The student group Prism is planning several additional happenings, with details available soon.

Contact Lisa Maurer, LGBT coordinator, for a complete events listing or with any questions.

LGBT Awareness Month-Now More Than Ever Comment from stropiano on 04/03/05
At a time when GLBT people, especially the youth of America, are being
told by those in power that the only "perfect union" is one between a
heterosexual man and women, it's more important than ever for staff and
faculty to support LGBT Awareness month.

It doesn't matter where you fall on the Kinsey Scale...
