Native American Heritage Display

Contributed by Toni Cooke on 04/28/05

The Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, is pleased to introduce a display on Abenaki heritage near 101 CHS. The display includes information about the Abenaki Nation of Northern New England and Southern Quebec.

It features excellent examples of hand made items of the Abenaki culture including cradleboards, baskets, tools and clothes made by Heather Underwood, President of the Native American Culture Club, and her family.

The materials will be on exhibit through May as part of a new program by CSCRE. If other student organizations are interested in creating their own display please contact Toni at 274-1056 or at: tcooke@ithaca.edu.
