Change in Available Paper Stock

Contributed by Tom Torello on 05/04/05

The College will no longer be ordering letterhead stock with a watermark of the College’s seal.

We have been ordering watermarked and non-watermarked stock for letterhead and other uses. However, the watermarked stock is significantly more expensive than non-watermarked stock and violated the College’s policy for use of the seal (see Graphics Use).

For these reasons, marketing communications and the print shop have decided not to reorder the watermarked stock after the current quantity is depleted.

The banner image above (and on many other websites) also violates the usage guidelines for the seal:
The seal should be clear and readable when reproduced. As a guideline the seal should be no smaller than the size of a dime and no larger than one-third the width of the printing surface (that is, the surface area of the poster, publication, or other official promotional tool being used).
Just thought I'd mention it. But I'm sure these issues will be solved with a new marketing plan/website, right?

Matthew you are correct on all fronts. The current header design does violate the seal usage standards. And we will be changing that with a new web design in the near future. Marketing Communications and ITS are working on a plan for that redesign now. It will include the new graphic standards.
