On May 15, the Ithaca College Board of Trustees approved two changes to Volume IV, Policies and Procedures Pertaining to Faculty, of the Ithaca College Policy Manual.

Section 4.7 – Institutional Policies Pertaining to Faculty Conduct

Section 4.13.2 – All-College Faculty Tenure and Promotion Committee
  • A second paragraph added to section 4.13.2.2 (creates a pool of past members in the case of recusal of a regular member).

Regarding faculty absences from classes, the document only mentioned
professional absences. What about professors who habitually cut a class
(or 2) directly before a school vacation? Even though activities (a movie?)
may be provided for those few who show up (if any, since they know the
prof. will be absent), students who choose *not* to cut have had their
element of choice removed. Please pass this on to the committee.
