The Ithaca College Toastmaster Club was recognized as a Select Distinguished Club for 2004-5 from Toastmasters International.

In order to qualify for the award, clubs must achieve seven of the ten goals set out each year for each club, as well as maintain 20 members or have a net growth of at least 5 members.

The club also received a "Talk up Toastmasters" award for increasing membership by five or more members during February though March 2005.

The following individuals were elected to serve as the executive officers for 2005-6:

* President, Beth Rugg
* VP-education, Karin Wikoff
* VP-membership/public relations, Doreen Hettich-Atkins
* Secretary/treasurer, Lori June
* Sargeant at arms, Peg Termina
* Deborah Emnett will also serve as an executive officer in her position as immediate past president.

In addition, Deborah Emnett was appointed to the role of area 10 governor, beginning July 1. Area 10 clubs include Johnson, CBORD, Ithaca area, Cayuga, southern division advanced, Ithaca College, and Thomas Group.

Please consider joining the award-winning IC Toastmasters Club, which meets right here on campus. Membership is open to all members of the Ithaca College and Longview communities. Our first meeting of the fall semester is scheduled for Tuesday, August 30, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Campus Center conference room.
