All first-year students and new transfer students are required to attend a diversity workshop with Dr. Maura Cullen on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. (repeated at 9:00 p.m.) in the Emerson Suites.

Students should attend either the 7:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m. presentation with their residence hall floor, as indicated below, unless attending with a first-year seminar class. The workshop is offered twice to accommodate student schedules and facilitate 100% participation by first-year and new transfer students.

Because learning occurs in the dynamic context of a global economy that moves peoples, cultures, and ideas around the globe, we want the members of the Ithaca Community of learners to be at ease in a number of settings, with people from a variety of backgrounds, and with ideas new to their experience.

Hi! I was wondering if upperclassmen are allowed to attend this
workshop, because it sounds very interesting. I don't remember any
mention of a diversity requirement in any of the academic course
catalogs, so i was also wondering how you planned to enfore the
"required" participation of the first-year students. Thanks!
