Ithaca College

Pianist Jairo Geronymo, an assistant professor of music performance at the Ithaca College School of Music, will present a free piano recital on Sunday, September 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall at Ithaca College.

Geronymo will perform a sonatina by Edino Krieger and a sonata by Prokofiev, as well as Villa-Lobos’ “Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4,” and the music of Mendelssohn.

A native of Brazil, Geronymo has performed as soloist with the Northwest Sinfonietta in Tacoma, the Mesa Symphony Orchestra, and the Brazilian Symphony in Rio de Janeiro. He previously taught at Western Washington University and Pacific Lutheran University, after earning his D.M.A. at the University of Washington. He also studied at Arizona State University and Sao Paulo State University.
