Was Hurricane Katrina caused by global warming? In what ways is it a natural disaster? An ecologist and an environmental historian present an analysis from their disciplines. This is a special scholarly colloquium with Jason Hamilton, Biology, and Michael Smith, History, on Thursday, September 22, 12:10 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Center for Natural Sciences room 112. Due to the location, we will not provide refreshments, but you are free to bring your lunch.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Faculty Excellence. Please propose a colloquium in one of our three categories:

  • Scholarly colloquium
  • Conversation with colleagues
  • Sustainability café
The Scholarly Colloquium is an ideal opportunity to preview or refine a conference presentation and all disciplines, including performance and student affairs, are welcome. The Conversations with Colleagues gather a group to discuss an issue of interest and you need not be an expert to propose one. To propose a colloquium, please contact Susanne Morgan at morgan@ithaca.edu. Center for Faculty Excellence
