Effective January 1, 2006 the rates for chargeback for audio visual production labor cost will rise to $8.50 an hour per technician to keep pace with the increase in the minimum wage.
As you are aware, student audio/visual technicians provide the majority of our AV services. We have developed a list of standard services that all of our students should be able to provide professionally and consistently after training.
These standard services are:
1. Projection with full audio support for PowerPoint*, ½” VHS, and DVD, as well as other equipment supplied by the client. (*Technicians are not trained to trouble shoot software and/or hardware problems with laptop computers.)
2. House sound support in the Emerson Suites, including up to 4 microphones.
3. House sound support in the IC Square including up to 4 microphones, 2 monitors, and 1 CD player.
4. Event sound support using portable sound systems and including up to 4 microphones and 1 CD player.
5. Stage wash lighting, using house lights in the Emerson Suites and non-colored stage wash in the IC Square.
6. Colored dance floor lighting in the Emerson Suites and IC Square.
All services are dependant on the availability of staff and the existing equipment inventory. Many additional services are available with consultation from professional staff in the Office of Conference and Event Services.
To help offices and organizations with planning and budgeting for upcoming events, a general audio visual production services estimate guide is available at the Office of Conference and Event Services.
Please contact Phil Huber (x3313) with any questions about the services that can be provided for your event.
