The Natural Area Stewardship Committee has reconvened this year as the Natural Lands Committee, co-chaired by Jason Hamilton (Department of Biology) and Rick Couture (Physical Plant).
The Natural Lands Committee is the group that has been charged by the administration to develop a plan for the sustainable management of the College’s natural areas.
The committee is embracing this opportunity to educate our community about sustainable resource use; the conflicts, the values and the process as they are manifested in the care of natural lands. Because decisions about land management can be controversial, the committee is committed to insuring that the process is fair and open. Input is being sought from the entire community as a plan is developed that seeks to achieve a balance of financial, ethical and environmental responsibility.
If you are interested in becoming involved with Natural Lands, please contact Jason Hamilton or Rick Couture.
