Two important films and a panel discussion will be featured this week as the lecture series "The Caribbean: Race and Migration" continues.

On Monday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in Park Hall Auditorium, the film "Accelerated under Development," filmmaker Travis Wilkerson's portrait of the radical Cuban fiolmmaker Santiago Alvarwz, will be shown along with two of Alvarez's works, "lbj" and "70 Springs of Ho Chi Minh." A faculty panel discussion will follow.

On Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. in Clark Lounge, Egbert Hall, "Congo pa' ti," a video exploration of Afro-Latina/o culture in the Dominican Republic, featuring interviews with artists and residents of the community of Villa Mella and others, will be screened.

These events are free and open to the public.
