Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement, begins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12th, at the start of fall break, and lasts until an hour after sunset on Thursday, the 13th.

Many Jewish students are planning to leave early for fall break on Wednesday to be home on time for the start of the 26-hour fast. Please excuse these students and allow them to make up work and mid-term exams.
