The Ithaca College School of Music’s faculty string quartet will present a free concert at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Their program includes Hindemith’s “String Quartet No. 3,” Mozart’s “Quartet in D Major, K. 575,” and Astor Piazolla’s “Four for Tango.”

Brought together by their mutual love for chamber music, the Ariadne String Quartet was formed in 1994 by members of the string faculty at the Ithaca College School of Music. In their inaugural year they performed in New York City’s Alice Tully Hall in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Ithaca College. They perform regularly at Ithaca College as well as on recital series throughout the region. Violinists Susan Waterbury and Rebecca Ansel, violist Debra Moree, and cellist Elizabeth Simkin bring to the ensemble a broad and diverse background in chamber music that has taken them around the globe and back.
