This talk will overview the problem of particularly invasive species in the marine environment. This includes the history of the problem, the vectors, the impacts, and other interesting biological questions. Then it will focus in on New England studies on invasives, including the Rapid Assessment surveys 2000 to 2005 and Professor Seeley's own 20 years of research on population dynamics and impacts of one invasive predator, the green crab.
