World AIDS Day Events

Contributed by Erica Weiss on 11/27/05

World AIDS Day is Thursday, December 1.

There will be events on- and off-campus.

Muller Chapel will be open for meditation and reflection from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (free red ribbons will be available).

There will be an AIDS informational table (with a guessing jar, ribbons, and more) in the Campus Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The "Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen" film series presents One + One at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 103.
A poignant film that gives insights to how serodiscordant couples cope with the difficult task of living with HIV on a daily basis, and the deep bond they share because of it.

The AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Thursday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday at Willard Straight Hall Memorial Room, Cornell University.

STAP(the Southern Tier AIDS Program) is hosting a 5k fun run starting at 4:00 p.m. at Gimme Coffee. Call Ann at 272-4098 for details and registration. Run will end with candle lighting ceremony and warm drinks. (No entry fee; this is not a race!)

Stop AIDS -- keep the promise!
