Ithaca College

Three architectural firms participating in the design competition for an athletics and events center facility will be making presentations on Thursday and Friday, December 15 and 16 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center for Music. All members of the campus community interested in seeing these presentations are welcome to attend.

The three finalists were narrowed from a field of fourteen firms that had expressed interest in the project by a committee composed of faculty, students, and administrators that have been working on this effort over the last several months. This design competition is an opportunity for each firm to demonstrate its creativity and possible approaches to designing this exciting potential addition to the campus. The committee expects to recommend one of the firms to the President and Board of Trustees shortly after completion of the presentations so preliminary program planning for the building can begin during the spring.

The names of each firm that will be presenting, the time of its presentation and its website for further information is included below. Evaluation sheets for each firm will be available at the sessions, and we encourage individuals to attend all three sessions to enable fair comparisons of the competing firms.
