Car-Sharing Summit January 26

Contributed by Maura Stephens on 01/04/06

The culmination of months of Ithaca College and Cornell student-led planning, with support by several organizations including Ithaca College, a summit on a car-sharing program for Ithaca will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Tompkins County Public Library’s Borg-Warner Room. Registration is required and VERY limited, so please sign up ONLY if you are interested in working to make a car share program a reality; this is not intended for those who would be interested in availing themselves of the program once it is in place.

Visit the car-sharing summit site for more information and to register.

There will be a public display room on car sharing in the Public Library the same day and a demonstration the next day at EcoVillage.

The group also needs volunteers to help with:
• designing visual materials for the summit
• writing op-eds leading up to the summit
• writing and distributing a press release
• engaging local venture capital funds to start project
• additional tasks as needed

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Daniel Roth, co-chair, Youth Action Team, US Partnership for the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, and Cornell graduate student: dnr6@cornell.edu; (cell) 518-727-6723
