Congratulations to Sweta Shah, a Junior in the Physics Department, who has received an grant award from the Sigma Xi research society in support of her travel to observe asteroids with Prof. Beth Clark Joseph at the NASA IRTF telescope in Mauna Kea, Hawaii.

The Grant-in-Aid of Research program is highly competitive with only 20% of applicants who receive funding.

Sigma Xi is the international honor society of research scientists and engineers. The Paulen A. Smith Chapter at Ithaca College was founded in 1966 and inducts qualified science researchers into the society each spring.
