On Wednesday, March 1, the full body of Common Council (ten legislators representing five wards in the City of Ithaca), will
meet at 7:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers on the third floor. City Council is located at 108 E. Green Street, across from the
Tompkins County Public Library. Please consider coming to a Council meeting to share your thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
Ithaca College students play critically important roles in community service, community relations, economic development, and social enhancement for our region. Each month, Ithaca's Common Council meets as both a full body (always the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.) and throughout the month on a variety of standing committees. Anyone from the public may address City Council on any topic by stating their name and residential address. Each person is afforded three minutes in which to make their case or state their opinions.
It’s important that your elected officials hear from you. Currently, our City Council has three members that are all under the age of 30. One member is currently a student at Cornell University. Three other members are under 40. Many issues that affect your quality of life are decided at this local governmental level.
What concerns, impresses, or worries you? From the noise ordinance, to taxi rates and service, to economic development, and social programming, City Council has a say. And so should you. Please join us and let your voices be heard.
