The Wellness Clinic will offer a free class in stress reduction through yoga and meditation for all staff. The instructor is Donna DeLuca.
Beginning Friday, March 24, the Wellness Clinic will offer a free morning class in basic hatha yoga and mindfulness meditation appropriate for all levels of fitness and experience. The first portion of the class, from 6:30 to 6:50 a.m., will be a flow of basic yoga postures with breathing instructions. There will be a break from 6:50 to 6:55 to set up for meditation, which will last from 6:55 to 7:15. There will be basic instruction offered at the beginning of the meditation, but it is suggested that you contact Donna DeLuca at ddeluca1@ithaca.edu for an orientation if you have never meditated.
You can come to either or both portions of the class, but no one will be admitted to the meditation after it begins at 6:55 a.m.
Donna DeLuca has studied and taught mindful movement and meditation for 30 years at venues including the Centers for Disease Control, the Omega Institute, and Smith College.
