Ithaca College is teaming up with anime publisher Central Park Media for a screening of CPM's forthcoming computer-generated monster movie, Negadon: The Monster From Mars. This special preview will take place on Friday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 138 of the Roy H. Park Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The screening will be followed by a discussion led by assistant professor and filmmaker Simon Tarr and Ithaca alum and Central Park Media assistant marketing manager Peter Tatara.

About Negadon: The Monster From Mars:

Directed by Jun Awazu from his original script and rendered in staggeringly realistic computer graphics, Negadon: The Monster From Mars pays homage to a wide variety of 1950s and '60s Japanese monster movies such as Godzilla, Mothra, and other classics which first brought global attention to Japan's then-emerging post-war feature film industry. Negadon is the world's first completely computer-generated monster movie. The film was in production for over three years and required the invention of special rendering algorithms to reproduce a 1950s style and look. Unleashed in Japan in October 2005, Negadonwon the Outstanding Production Award at the 20th Digital Contents Grand Prix and was named a Jury Recommended Work at the ninth Japan Media Arts Festival. Central Park Media will be releasing Negadon theatrically this spring and summer on DVD. For more on Negadon, visit .
