Ithaca College

The last colloquium of the year is a conversation with colleagues led by Michael Smith, history, and Stacia Zabusky, anthropology. It takes place on Thursday, April 20, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m., in the Clark Lounge of the Campus Center. Inspired by the 2005 Summer Institute and other sources, these two faculty members introduced learning portfolios in fall 2005. This presentation includes their own experiences and those of their students.

Learning portfolios will also be a focus of the May 2006 Summer Institute, "Implementing the Mission." Despite the organizational-level title, this is a week-long event on course design. Participants will create learning portfolios for themselves as learners, and will use the college's new ePortfolio environment to share them.

The other remaining noontime event is a scholarly colloquium on Tuesday, April 18, from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m., in Clark Lounge. Daniel Breen, English, presents "Making the Past: History, Historians, and Literature in England, 1485-1600."
