At the recent annual conference of the American Library Association, College Librarian Lisabeth Chabot assumed the role of Chair of the College Libraries Section of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL).

As chair, Chabot is responsible for programming and educational activities provided to the 2,700 members of the section. Plans are underway for the program for the 2007 annual conference to be held in Washington, DC. The focus of the program will be “Engaging Staff in Organizational Change”.

ACRL is a professional association of academic librarians and other interested individuals. It is dedicated to enhancing the ability of academic library and information professionals to serve the information needs of the higher education community and to improve learning, teaching, and research. ACRL is the largest division of the American Library Association (ALA). ACRL currently has a membership of approximately 13,250 and provides a broad range of professional services and programs for a diverse membership.
