I hope that each of you are enjoying your summer. As we prepare to turn the calendar toward August and the fall semester nears, I would like to make members of the campus community aware of the following information:
SUMMER HOURS – our special hours for the summer period continue through Friday, August 11. We will return to our regular hours the following week.
ALL COLLEGE STAFF MEETING – our fall meeting will take place on Thursday, August 24 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the Emerson Suites.
NEW OPENING DATES OF RESIDENCE HALLS – First year students will begin moving into their residence halls on Sunday, August 27 (Saturday in previous years) and continuing students may begin moving into the residence halls on Monday, August 28. A listing of offices that will be open on Sunday to support the arrival of our new students will be posted in a separate announcement.
CONVOCATION and COMMUNITY PICNIC – Our traditional beginning of the new academic year will be marked with Convocation on Monday, August 28. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Ben Light Gymnasium of the Hill Center. Faculty and staff are invited to join new students for a picnic on the academic quad following the Convocation ceremony.
