The Handwerker Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of “Past Perfect: Recent Work by Katherine Sullivan,” curated by Cheryl Kramer, on Wednesday, August 30.
This exhibition will display Katherine Sullivan’s recent series of paintings and drawings: Caldarium, Body Electric, and Mesuline. In each of these series Sullivan engages in a dialogue with the canon of Western art and, through her technical and conceptual explorations, brings them squarely into the 21st century.
An illustrated catalog and an artist’s talk at 12:15 p.m. on October 5 accompany the exhibition. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and the work will remain on display until October 15.
All Handwerker Gallery events are free and open to the public. For more information please see www.ithaca.edu/handwerker or contact Cheryl Kramer, Handwerker Gallery Director, at 274-3548.
