Professor Rebecca Plante/Sociology elected to the Council of the Animals & Society section of the American Sociological Association.

Dr. Plante, who formerly served as Newsletter Editor of the Animals and Society Section of the American Sociological Association, and in 2005 organized and presided on a panel for the ASA Annual Meetings, "Animal and Homo Sapien Interactions: Theory, Symbolic Inreaction, and Policy." has been elected to a three-year term on the Council of the Animals and Society Section of the American Sociological Association.
