Ithaca College and Cornell University's Farm-to-Cornell program have teamed to present an evening with Frances Moore Lappé, author of "Diet for a Small Planet." Ms. Lappé will speak at Cornell University, in G10 Biotech Building, on Wednesday, September 20, at 6:00p.m.

Join us for an evening with the acclaimed author of "Diet for a Small Planet"; "World Hunger: Twelve Myths"; "Hope’s Edge"; and "Democracy’s Edge". Frances Lappé has authored or co-authored 15 books, and her 1971 "Diet for a Small Planet" has sold over 3 million copies. This event is free and open to the public.

Through her work with the Small Planet Institute, Lappé continues to educate about the human-made causes of world hunger and the power of every day choices to create the world we want. She is a highly-regarded speaker who has received 17 honorary doctorate degrees and was the 1987 recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, sometimes called the Alternative Nobel.

Frances Moore Lappé is coming to Cornell University to kick off Cornell Dining’s Fall Harvest Celebration, which includes a 100% local foods dinner Thursday at Robert Purcell Marketplace. Note that Ithaca College Dining Services is hosting its own Sustainability Dinner on Tuesday, September 19 in Tower Dining Hall.
