Campus Dining Services is inviting students to help stop hunger and lend a helping hand to those in need right in our own community by taking part in a special Cans Across America promotion from October 16 - 18, 2006 in the Terrace Dining Hall.

Cans Across America features a wonderful opportunity for students to take part in a rewarding experience by donating canned food to help those in need. Highlighting the event will be an exciting attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the most canned food donations raised during a single event in multiple locations across the United States. The best part is that all of the food collected during this promotion on campus will help those in need right in our own community. All donations will benefit Bread of Life Food Pantry.

Bread of Life Food Pantry is a non-profit organization and of the Friendship Donations Network. The organization operates out of the basement of the Willseyville Baptist Church. Bread for Life is open every Wednesday from 1:30p.m - 2:30p.m. and serves between 50 - 70 families per week.

According to Jeff Scott, Ithaca College Dining Services General Manager “Cans Across America is a great way for students to give back to the community, something most students truly want to do. It will allow them to have some fun, while helping a lot of deserving people. It’s also really exciting to have the chance to set a new Guinness World Record in the process. This event can prove to be our most rewarding promotions of the year.”

Donations for Cans Across America will take place on October 16-18, 2006 in the all dining halls and IC Square.
