Brahms, Ibert, and contemporary British and American fare will be on the program of an upcoming recital by faculty baritone Randie Blooding on Thursday, October 26 at 8:15 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall.

Blooding has performed with many opera companies nationwide, including companies in Columbus, Dallas, Fort Worth, Nashville, the Bronx, Virginia, Pittsburgh, Palm Springs, Colorado, and Ithaca. Among Dr. Blooding’s oratorio credits is his recording of the Sea Symphony of Ralph Vaughan Williams with the Atlanta Civic Chorus. He has performed more than 200 recitals in 35 states and Canada. A native of Colorado, Professor Blooding is a past winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs National Artist Competition and a district and regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera auditions. Before joining the Ithaca College faculty in 1990, Professor Blooding maintained a private voice studio and sang professionally in New York City. He was formerly on the faculty at Southern Methodist University and Middle Tennessee State University. He holds degrees from Colorado State University, Southern Methodist University, and Ohio State University, where he earned his doctor of music arts degree.
