Campus Sustainability Day will be held this Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in various areas in the Campus Center. This annual celebration showcases what our campus community is doing to advance sustainability. The daylong event features displays and demonstrations by campus groups and departments and presentations by faculty, students, and special guests.

9:00 a.m.–10:00 a.m - Sandra Steingraber, visiting distinguished scholar in the Division of Interdisciplinary and International Studies, environmental toxicologist, and acclaimed author of Living Downstream, will present "Sustainable Eating from the Dirt to the Dinner Table." North Meeting Room, Campus Center.
11:40 a.m.–12:30p.m. - As part of our Sustainability Café series, “Sustainability in Dining Services” will be presented. Jeff Scott, director of Dining Services, will update you on everything Dining Services has done to incorporate more sustainable practices, and he'll give you a preview of some of their plans for the future. “Teachable edible” snacks–-local and organic foods--will be provided to taste test. 12:30–2:30 p.m. - The Society of College and University Planning (SCUP) webcast entitled “Where are you on the continuum of integrated sustainability planning?” featuring case studies and success stories from other higher ed institutions, including Harvard University, Arizona State, and Grand Valley State University. 3:00–4:00 p.m. - Jason Hamilton, “The Quest for a Sustainable World: What We Know, What We Can Do.” North Meeting Room, Campus Center.
At 4:00 p.m., stay tuned for a special announcement from Zachary Ford, student body president, about an important new campus initiative to encourage environmental sustainability, personal responsibility, and campus pride.
4:00–5:00 p.m. - Daniel Greenberg from “Living Routes” along with Astrid Jirka from the Office of International Programs will present "Sustainable Travel and Carbon Offsets," in Klingenstein Lounge.
