Stephen Nicholson has been the Chair of the Tompkins County Environmental Management Council for the past 4 years. Steve and his family of four live off the grid, using very little fossil fuels. His interests include renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability. The EMC has led Tompkins County efforts to: preserve open space, install and use renewable energy, pesticide reduction, improve water quality, and burn barrel elimination. Steve also heads Sustainable Tompkins, the organization dedicated to advancing regional sustainable development.
