In view of recent copyright challenges from publishers and the new campus network security initiative, the library will be implementing security and usability enhancements which will affect all locally hosted online reserve services (e-reserves or digital audio reserves) beginning next semester. As a result, there will be a substantial change to how these materials are accessed once the spring semester begins.

*Security & Access: When accessing locally hosted online reserves (e-reserves and digital audio reserves), users will be required to enter a username and password. The username and password will be course-specific. Each instructor will receive the library-assigned username and password information once the reserve items have been processed.

Instructors will be responsible for providing the username and password to students as the library staff are not able to provide login information.

*Online Reserves: To make it easier to find the correct link to your course materials, a new graphical icon will accompany all online reserve links.

As always, the library is continually researching ways to enhance and simplify course reserves access and we would like your feedback: What would you change? What would you keep? What would make things easier? What are some of the challenges you currently face? Please feel free to send your suggestions directly to the library technology specialist.
