Notice from Public Safety

Ithaca College Recreation Trail closed until December 20th.

The Office of Public Safety advises the Ithaca College Recreation Trail is closed until December 20 due to the fall hunting season. Even though IC does not allow hunting on college property, during the hunting season the adjoining private property may be used by those property owners and other hunters. In case of emergency or to report any suspicious activity contact the Office of Public Safety (274-3333).

What a shame that Ithaca College students, faculty, and staff cannot enjoy their
own South Hill property because of hunting, or the potential risk posed by
hunters. Although I understand this as a safety issue, I do not agree that a
neighboring landowner should have the power to affect closure of adjacent and
privately owned trails.
