Guest trombonist Eileen Meyer Russell will present a free recital at 8:15 p.m. on Monday, December 4 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall at Ithaca College. Music of Jorgensen, Halsey Stevens, Hoshina, David Fetter, and Nino Rota will be performed with pianist Diane Birr. The Hoshina work will include a visual element, photographs of Corpus Christi Bay taken over the course of a year by the performer.

Russell teaches low brass at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. She has been a euphonium instructor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan since 2004. Previously, Russell taught low brass at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, TX, Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, and Vincennes (IN) University. Russell holds degrees from Indiana University and the University of Northern Iowa. As a Texan and former trombonist, I'm sad that the 2700 miles from Los Angeles to Ithaca separate me from this concert!
