Srijana Bajracharya, Associate Professor, Health Promotion and Physical Education and Janet Wigglesworth, Associate Dean for Graduate and Clinical Services, School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, presented a research paper at the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Exposition in Boston, MA on November 8, 2006 under the session titled, “Initiatives and Research in Cancer” endorsed by Epidemiology section of APHA.

The research paper, entitled: “Knowledge regarding colorectal cancer (CRC) and the perceived benefits of and barriers to screening for CRC among college and university employees,” was supported by a Summer Research Project Award to Dr. Bajracharya by the Ithaca College Faculty Development Program. Based upon these overall findings, several recommendations concerning the study protocol, as well as effective health education and health care delivery,were suggested.
