Anthropologist David Turkon is the senior author of an article in the most recent issue of PRACTICING ANTHROPOLOGY (Vol. 28, No. 4), a publication of the Society for Applied Anthropology.

The essay, "Settling Sudanese Refugees in the Age of Individualism," describes the challenges that he and co-author Ann Wheat faced in creating a supportive organization for Sudanese "Lost Boys and Girls" in Phoenix, Arizona. Since coming to Ithaca, Turkon has been active in establishing the Central New York Lost Boys Foundation in Syracuse.
