Barney Beins (Psychology) made two invited presentations at the 2006 Northeastern Conference for Teachers of Psychology.

The first presentation, with Stephen Davis of Texas Wesleyan University, was entitled Facilitating Student Research at all Educational Levels in Psychology. This workshop provided attendees with ways to introduce research to students that spark enthusiasm and provide a solid foundation in empirical psychology.

The second presentation was entitled Psychology and Scientific Thinking. In this presentation, the topic focused on methods of fostering scientific thought and the use of empirically derived data to answer questions.

This teaching conference originated at Ithaca College in 1994. It was transformed into a pre-conference meeting at the annual New England Psychological Association convention in 1999 and continues in that format.
