Michael Trotti, Professor in the History Department presented a paper titled “Public Executions as the Historical Context for Lynching” at the Southern Historical Association annual meeting in Birmingham, Alabama, November, 2006. He also organized this panel, titled “Race, Lynching, and Legal Executions in the South and Southwest.”
