The School of Humanities and Sciences has set spring deadlines for proposals to its two competitive award programs, the H&S Ithaca Fund and the Emerson Humanities Collaboration Awards.
The H&S Ithaca Fund Award Program deadline for spring, summer, and early fall 2007 projects is February 19. Students and faculty in H&S are eligible to apply for these awards to support course-based activities that enhance teaching and learning, student/faculty collaborations in scholarly projects, and individual student projects. Award amounts range from $150 up to a maximum of $1000.
The Emerson Humanities Collaboration Award Program deadline for summer 2007, fall 2007, and spring 2008 projects is March 20. Meritorious H&S students who are eligible for financial aid can apply for these awards to work directly with a member of the Humanities faculty on a collaborative scholarly project. Both student applicants and their faculty mentors must submit materials as part of the proposal process. The Award offers students a stipend of up to $3,000 to enable recipients to devote time and attention to the work required to succeed in such scholarly projects.
