Denise A. Woods, a voice, speech, and dialects professor at the California Institute of the Arts and a coach to many well-known actors and broadcast journalists will speak about “Color-Blind Speech” on Thursday, February 15, 2007 from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. in the Clark Theatre of the Dillingham Center for the Performing Arts. All Ithaca College faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend this special and informative event.
On February 15, 2007, from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Clark Theatre of the Dillingham Center for the Performing Arts, Professor Denise A. Woods will offer a master class in voice, speech, and dialects for Department of Theatre Arts B.F.A. sophomore acting and musical theatre majors. Professor Woods welcomes observers to her master class. From 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M., also in the Clark Theatre, Professor Woods will speak about “Color-Blind Speech.” All Ithaca College faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend this special and informative event.
Professor Woods is a voice, speech and dialects professor at the California Institute of the Arts. She is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Drama and the first African-American woman to serve on the Juilliard faculty. She has served as a coach to Soledad O'Brien, Norah O'Donald, Queen Latifah, Taye Diggs, Lawrence Fishburne, Denzel Washington, Will Smith, Mike Myers, and Ellen Burstyn, among many others.
