Soprano Carol McAmis, a professor of voice at the Ithaca College School of Music, will present a free recital on Sunday, February 11 at 4pm in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Pianist Diane Birr will collaborate on the program, which includes the “Hermit Songs” composed by Samuel Barber, “Twelve Poems of Emily Dickenson,” by Aaron Copland, and music by Hildegard von Bingen and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Carol McAmis previously taught at the University of Kansas and Manchester College. She is a specialist in movement training and relaxation techniques for singing and is a guild-certified Feldenkrais teacher. She studied at the University of Kansas, the Tanglewood Music Center, the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria, the University of Michigan, and Westminster Choir College.
