Korea Summer Program

Ithaca College students will take the documentary course with Hanyang University students.

“FIND YOUR INNER SEOUL”
2007 SUMMER SHORT TERM STUDY ABROAD
Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea

For the second year, Ithaca College professor Changhee Chun will teach Cross-Cultural Documentary Research & Production at Hanyang University in Seoul, South Korea. The course will be taught in collaboration with the Hanyang International Summer School (HISS). Ithaca College students will take the documentary course with Hanyang University students in order to maximize cultural exchange. Additional courses in HISS are also offered at no additional cost, including The Korean Mind through Literature and Film, United States-Korea Relations From 1945, Economic Development and Social Change, Asian Philosophy and more. Courses will be taught by visiting professors from UC-Irvine, Columbia, UMass-Amherst and the University of British Columbia. IC students may earn up to 6 credits.

Students may also participate in field trips to the Icheon pottery village, the DMZ, see a B-boy performance and visit the ancient Shilla Dynasty capital. Students may also participate in a 7-day travel to Xi-an Jiaotong University in China with HISS for an additional fee. Field trips and extra courses included in the tuition fee.

Scholarships through HISS will be awarded at the conclusion of the program to students with competitive GPAs in their HISS classes.
